Robert Brun, QC of Vancouver is the CBA’s new Second Vice-President-elect. CBA President Kevin Carroll, QC made the announcement on March 19, following the vote by CBA Council. He will become Second Vice-President at the CBA’s Canadian Legal Conference in Niagara in August, the first step on the way to the presidency of the CBA in 2012.
Mr Brun is a Past President of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and a Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia. He is a member of the Justice Review Task Force and the CBA National Task Force on Conflicts of Interest. Mr Brun was called to the Bar in 1978 and practiced for five years with the Workers’ Compensation Board of BC prior to joining Harris & Brun as a founding partner in 1984. He has a special interest in personal injury and workers’ compensation law and is also experienced in the fields of insurance and administrative law.
He has conducted many trials and appeals in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Court of Appeal of British Columbia and Supreme Court of Canada. He is a frequent guest lecturer at seminars for lawyers put on by Continuing Legal Education, the Canadian Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.
