In September 2004, the Government of BC issued a “Green Paper” on Civil Justice Reform. On March 30, 2005, the Attorney General announced two significant changes: Rule 68, for all disputes involving less than $100,000; and an increase in the Small Claims limit to $25,000.
The Canadian Bar Association BC Branch is soliciting input from members regarding the civil justice reforms discussed in the Green Paper, and in particular the recent changes. If you have an experience or suggestion that you think will assist the CBABC in preparing its response, we ask that you send it to the Branch office BEFORE MAY 13th, attention: “Justice Reform” at cba@bccba.org or fax to 604.669.9601 or toll free 1.888.669.9601.
