Transactional Intellectual Property Committee

Mandate

  1. To focus on possible or proposed changes to federal industrial and intellectual property laws as they affect commercial transactions.
  2. To monitor laws in related areas involving intellectual property transactions including licensing and franchising, bankruptcy, and corporate commercial law.
  3. To direct attention and prepare briefs on possible or proposed legislation touching on the intellectual property aspects of commercial transactions.
  4. To liaise with the Trademarks Committee and other CBA Sections and Committees.
  5. To meet regularly, by conference call or otherwise, and to endeavour to meet in person, at the CBA Legal Conference.
  6. To participate and assist in professional development projects.
