RETAINING WOMEN IN LAW SEMINAR:  A SOUND BUSINESS STRATEGY

Hear leading professional women, both inside and outside of the legal profession, discuss the skills you need to understand in the business of being a lawyer.  Discover the elements of effective mentorship and how to limit the downside and maximize the upside of the mentoring relationship.  Find out about the extensive efforts of the Law Society of Upper Canada to retain women in private practice and their focus on helping law firms create policies and working environments that better support women in private practice.  Hear first-hand analysis from the researcher as to how gender in the Saskatchewan legal profession has changed in the last 20 years.  Learn about the benefits of diversity in the profession.  All this and more is outlined in more detail in the registration brochure.

This seminar will appeal not only to women who want to be successful in the legal profession, but also male partners and firm leaders who want to understand what firms can do to make the practice of law more attractive to women on a long term basis.

CBA Saskatchewan will be holding the following section meetings during MAY & JUNE 2012.  If you plan to attend a meeting, please confirm attendance with the Branch Office, two days prior to the meeting, by e-mail to lorrainec@cba.org.  You must be a CBA member to attend and memberships are not transferrable.  All meetings start at noon unless stated otherwise.  All topics, speakers, dates and times are subject to change.  Check back often for current updates.  (Updated May 24, 2012)
