 he 2010 Fort St John Law Day was held from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm on April 12, 2010 at the Fort St John Courthouse and RCMP Detachment at 10660 – 100th Street. Fort St John Law Day events included:
- 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm
- Tours of courthouse, cells and RCMP detachment
- Sheriff and RCMP law enforcement vehicles were on display
- 6:15 pm to 7:00 pm
- Presentation by Constable Gray addressing "Drug Houses and Gangs in Fort St John"
- Presentation by Family Law Lawyer Tracy Knight on "How to use Provincial Court for Family Law"
- 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm
- Mock Trial presented by the Grade 8 class of Dr Kearney Junior Secondary School with guest, The Honourable Judge Daley presiding
- 8:15 pm to 8:30 pm
- Question and Answer Session with The Honourable Judge Daley, Provincial Court of British Columbia; Sigrid A Thompson, Criminal Defence Lawyer and Margaret Cissell, Crown Prosecutor.
On Saturday, April 17, 2010, the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association held its province-wide "Dial-A-Lawyer" event as part of Law Week. Fort St John area residents were invited to call between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to speak with a lawyer for up to 15 minutes at no cost. In 2010, 25 volunteer lawyers assisted 216 people in five different areas of law including: family, tort/MVA, immigration, criminal, and wills and estates.
