he Cowichan Valley Law Day was held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Duncan Courthouse at 238 Government Street. Law Day activities at the Duncan courthouse included ask a lawyer, a kids' treasure map, a mock bail hearing, a mock sentencing hearing, community displays and sheriff's tours.

On Saturday, April 25, 2009, the Canadian Bar Association British Columbia Branch held its province-wide “Dial-A-Lawyer” as part of Law Week. Cowichan Valley area residents were invited to call 1.800.663.1919 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to speak with a lawyer for up to 15 minutes at no cost.
