As the National Affairs writer for the TorontoStar, Chantal Hébert is an influential and compellingvoice on major national issues of theday. But what makes her perspective uniqueis that she has experienced the reality of Canada’s French-English duality. In 1966, while still a youngster, and speakingonly French, she moved to Toronto with her family.This firsthand knowledge of the realities of living in a countrywith two official languages, and all of the attendantchallenges and issues that come along with that, informsher perspective on political events.

In addition to her role at the Star, Hébert is also a columnist for
Le Devoir in Montreal, and weekly participant on the political panel on CBC’s The National.
