Brendan Shanahan

Brendan is a career Civil Servant. Currently he is the manager of the Employment Permit Section. He was a key player in the introduction of the new Employment Permit Regime introduced on 1st February 2007.

Prior to joining the Civil Service, Brendan qualified as a secondary school teacher and also worked in a licensed bank for a number of years.

Brendan has a Batchelor of Arts Degree and Diplomas in Strategic Business Studies and Training Practices.

His interests include golf, playing the guitar and songwriting.
