Brendan Moran Graduated from University College, Dublin, in 1969 Qualifications: Batchelor of Commerce and Diploma in Public Administration Joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1969 as Third Secretary Posted to Embassy of Ireland, London, as Deputy Information Officer 1971-1973 Consul-General of Ireland in San Francisco from 1974 to 1979 Deputy Director, EU Division, Dept. for Foreign Affairs 1979-81 Director for Middle East, Latin America and Asia, Dept.of Foreign Affairs, Director, Permanent Mission of Ireland to the European Union, dealing with EU External Relations, in particular relations with developing countries, 1985 -1990. Head of Irish Mission to the European Community Monitoring Mission (ECMM) to the former Yugoslavia, Zagreb, 1991 Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs, 1991 – 1993 Ambassador of Ireland to the Republic of Korea, 1994 - 1999 Director, Western Balkans, OSCE and Council of Europe, Department of Foreign Affairs, 2000 – 2002 Ambassador of Ireland to the OSCE, Vienna, 2002 – 2007 Director, Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities October 2007 to-date.
