Partner, Stikeman Elliott Law Practice Suzanne Côté is a Montréal based partner of Stikeman Elliott, is the head of the Montréal Litigation Group and is a member of the Partnership Board. She practices in commercial litigation (breach of commercial contracts, representation of banks, litigations involving insolvency and bankruptcy, shareholders disputes, various litigations under the Competition Act, various real estate lawsuits including commercial leasing, manufacturer's liability, class actions) as well as litigation in civil and administrative matters, such as judicial reviews before the Federal Courts and the investigation conducted by the Quebec Court of Appeal regarding the removal from office of a judge of an inferior Tribunal (Ms. Côté was then assisting the Court of Appeal). She pleads before all jurisdictions: Superior Court of Quebec, Quebec Court of Appeal and Federal Courts. She has also been before the Supreme Court of Canada. Ms. Côté is included in the following publications:
Ms. Côté became Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in March 2005 and has been named "Litigator of the Year" by Le Monde juridique in 2008. Professional Activities Ms. Côté is a member of the Québec Bar and a member of the Canadian Bar Association. She is an occasional speaker at the Young Bar Association of Montréal, the Quebec Bar, the Canadian Institute and Insight. In addition, Ms. Côté is teaching evidence and civil representation at the École du Barreau du Québec. She is also involved in the organization of the annual Moot Court called the Guy Guérin Cup, which is the provincial competition to go to the Sopinka Cup. Education Université Laval, (LL.B., 1980).
