Immigration Minister Jason Kenney to address CBA Immigration Law Conference, May 14-15

OTTAWA – The federal Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, Jason Kenney, is the keynote speaker at the Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) 2010 National Citizenship and Immigration Law Conference: The Road from Pier 21, on Friday, May 14, at 8:30 a.m. at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront, in the Nova Scotia AB room. He will speak on the topic of refugee reform.
 
The CBA conference offers two full days of programming with an opening plenary on Low Profile/High Impact issues featuring Brian Goodman, Chair of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. A second plenary deals with Refugee Reform and features Lorne Waldman, of Waldman & Associates, Toronto, and Robert Néron, Assistant Deputy Chair of the Immigration and Refugee Board, Eastern Region.
 
Breakout sessions focus on topics including balancing enforcement and civil rights, ethics, overseas processing, and family reunification.
 
The CBA Conference takes place at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel and Resort, May 14-15, 2010. Full details on the program are available on the CBA website. Sessions are open to accredited media. Accreditation may be obtained by contacting Hannah Bernstein.
