Rod Snow of Whitehorse, Yukon is the new Second Vice President-elect for the Canadian Bar Association. President Bernard Amyot made the announcement on March 28 following a national CBA Council election. 160 Council members cast ballots in the election which saw a two-way race between Rod Snow and Paul Smith of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. This year, for the first time, members cast their ballots online using secure voting technology.

“I congratulate both candidates on their campaigns and laud their dedication to our Association,” said Mr. Amyot. “Rod will be invited to attend meetings of the Executive Officers and National Board so that he is fully briefed when he takes office.” Rod Snow will become Second Vice President at the Canadian Legal Conference in Quebec City this August—the first step on the way to the presidency of the CBA in 2010.
