OTTAWA – Commissioner of Competition Sheridan Scott is the keynote speaker at the CBA’s 2007 Fall Conference on Competition taking place on Thursday, Oct. 11 and Friday, Oct. 12 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Que.
Commissioner Scott will speak on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 12:30 p.m. at the conference lunch in the Beethoven Room of the Hilton Lac-Leamy. She will also moderate a panel on Friday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. in the Mozart Room on the international focus on unilateral conduct.
Stanley Wong, of the Competition Authority of Ireland, will deliver the keynote address at the dinner on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Salon Royal (Casino).
On Monday, Oct. 15 and Tuesday, Oct. 16, the CBA’s Law Firm Leadership: Tools for the Successful Canadian Law Firm explores themes of conflict of interest and risk management, as well as best practices and management trends for law firm effectiveness. The conference takes place at the Delta Centre-Ville in Montreal.
The opening address on Canada-U.S. relations features a conversation with two former ambassadors to Washington – Derek Burney and Raymond Chrétien – who will share their experiences on trade-related issues. The address takes place in the Regence C of the Delta Centre-Ville at 9 a.m. on Oct. 15. Tuesday’s (Oct. 16) luncheon address will be delivered by Mark Chandler, senior vice-president and general counsel at Cisco Systems Inc., at 12:00 p.m. in Regence B.
