Touchstone Award
The Touchstone Award celebrates the accomplishments of an individual or an organization who has excelled in promoting equality in the legal profession, the judiciary, or the legal community in Canada. The award recognizes significant national initiative to advance equality and/or contribution relating to race, disability, sexual orientation or other diversity issues in the community.
CBA-BC Branch Equality and Diversity Award
The Award celebrates the accomplishments of a CBA-BC member who has succeeded in advancing equality in the legal profession or generally in BC. It recognizes significant contributions to improving the status of women, people with disabilities, people of colour, Aboriginal people or peoples, lesbien, gay, bisexual, transgendered, or two-spirited people or people who are members of historically marginalized communities.
SOGIC Ally and Hero Awards
The SOGIC Awards recognize excellence within the Canadian legal profession in advancing the cause of equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and two-spirited (LGBT) people.
Awards Received by the CBA and its Members
CRRF Award of Excellence
In 2003, the Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) named the CBA a finalist for their prestigious Award of Excellence, presented alternate years to an organization that has demonstrated achievement and innovation in combatting racism in Canada.
OBA Volunteerism Award - Arleen Huggins
Arleen Huggins, a member of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) and former Chair of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) Equality Committee was named the 2004 recipient of the Linda Adlam Manning Award for Volunteerism.
