National CBA Women Lawyers Forum
The National CBA Women Lawyers Forum is aimed at promoting the stature and influence of women in the profession, as well as developing assistance programs, networking opportunities and mentoring programs.

The objective of the National CBA Women Lawyers Forum is to provide:

• personal and professional development;
• networking, mentoring and liaising opportunities;
• resources; and
• leadership.

Annual Mandatory Reporting to the Law Society on Professional Development Hours The Law Society of British Columbia instituted mandatory reporting of professional development effective January 1, 2009. All practising lawyers -- full time and part time -- must complete a minimum of 12 hours of approved educational activities annually. At least two hours must pertain to any combination of professional responsibility and ethics, client relations, and practice management. For more information, visit the Law Society of British Columbia website. The Canadian Bar Association is pleased to report that the Law Society of British Columbia has confirmed that professional development activities include attendance at CBABC Section presentations. As well, a personal tally of your CBABC professional development hours will be available online to members to view and print at will. CBA membership and Section participation is a very cost-effective means of achieving the professional development expectations of the Law Society.
