The Law Foundation of British Columbia
Aboriginal Justice Issues Funding Initiative The Law Foundation has established a fund of $600,000 to support one-time funding for initiatives designed to enable aboriginal people to meet their special justice needs; and/or to improve the legal system for aboriginal people. A project must fall within one or more of the Foundation’s statutorily mandated areas of legal education, legal research, law reform and legal aid. There is a two-stage application process:
Stage One Applicants submit a Letter of Intent form with a brief description of the project and how it meets the initiative’s objectives.
Stage Two A limited number of applicants will be invited to submit a formal grant application. Letters of Intent must be received (by hand, mail or fax) by the Foundation no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 1999.
