has joined Owen Bird Law Corporation as a shareholder. Ms. Nadel is a senior business lawyer and family business consultant who advises private and family-owned enterprises with ownership, governance, strategic and transition planning.

   

Lisa Ridgedale
has founded Ridgedale Law Corporation, a boutique business litigation firm. Ridgedale Law provides services in securities, corporate, commercial, criminal and financial services litigation.

Catherine Romanko 
has been appointed the Public Guardian and Trustee of British Columbia by Order in Council under the Public Guardian and Trustee Act following a national competition.


Andrei Mincov
has started Mincov Law Corporation through which he provides outside-the-box legal solutions primarily in the field of non-patent intellectual property.

 

Kareen Zimmer
has joined Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP’s Securities and Mergers & Acquisitions practice group as a partner in the Vancouver office. Kareen is a corporate lawyer focused on M&A, financings, and financial institution regulation.

   

Damon Chisholm
has been appointed a partner at McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office. He is a member of the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Group. Damon’s practice focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate.

Johanna Stein
has joined Lindsay Kenney LLP as an associate in the firm’s Insurance Law and Litigation group.



James Munro
has been appointed a partner at McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office. He is a member of the firm’s Capital Markets and M&A Group.

 

Albert Berns
has joined the Stevenson Luchies & Legh’s WestShore office where he will continue his litigation practice.

   

Jill Pereira 
has been appointed a partner at McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office. She is a member of the firm’s Financial Services Group. Her practice focuses on banking and secured lending transactions.

France de Montigny
has joined the Stevenson Luchies & Legh’s WestShore office. She has moved her practice from the downtown office.



Ningyan (Sandy) Wang
has been appointed a partner at McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office. She is a member of the firm’s China Practice Group. Sandy’s practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, Canadian listings, and securities.

 

Elizabeth Stewart
has joined the Stevenson Luchies & Legh’s in the practice of law. She completed her articles and was called to the Bar at the call ceremony presided over by her mother, Madam Justice Dorgan on September 16, 2011.

   

Clark Roberts
is welcomed back to Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP as partner and Chief Representative of the Gowlings International Inc. Beijing Representative Office.

Thomas Wachowski
has joined McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office as an Associate Counsel in the firm’s Capital Markets and M&A Group. Thomas has particular experience in corporate finance, securities, and mergers and acquisitions.



Mathew P. Good
joins Hordo Bennett Mounteer LLP, practising class actions and commercial litigation. He previously clerked at the B.C.C.A. and the Supreme Court of Canada.

 

The Honourable Stockwell Day, PC
has joined McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office as a Senior Strategic Advisor.  Mr. Day’s previous senior government roles include Minister of International Trade, Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway and President of the Treasury Board. 

   

Charles Hotel 
formerly Director & Senior Counsel, VANOC, has joined the Omni Group of Companies as General Counsel.

Robin Junger
has joined McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office as a partner in the firm’s Business Law group.  Robin’s areas of expertise include natural resources, energy, aboriginal, P3, major project development, First Nations, environmental and administrative law.



Lisa McDonald
joins Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP’s Construction and Infrastructure Group as an associate. Lisa formerly practised at the Department of Justice Canada. Prior to that, she articled and practised with Davis LLP.

 

Michael Shannon
has joined McMillan LLP’s Capital Markets and M&A group, in the Vancouver office, as an associate. His practice focuses on general corporate and securities related matters.

   

Ryan R. Chalmers 
joins Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP as an associate, practising in the Construction/Infrastructure and P3 Groups. Prior to joining FMC, Ryan was Legal Counsel to SNC-Lavalin.

Daniel Lau
has joined McMillan LLP’s Vancouver office as an associate in the firm’s Capital Markets and M&A group, with a particular emphasis on China.  Daniel’s practice focuses on corporate finance and general corporate and commercial matters.



Terence Whalen
joins Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP as a consultant in its Financial Services Group. Terry was senior in-house counsel to The Bank of Nova Scotia (Debt Products) and most recently practised with Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP.
