Chira Chilliak (Litigation), Farzad Forooghian (Securities) and Khorshid Hakemi (Securities), each called to the Bar on May 17th, have joined the Vancouver office of Lang Michener, LLP in their respective practice areas.

Sharon J. Morrisroe has been appointed General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Senior VP (subject to regulatory approval) at Raymond James.

Mark Hopkinson has left Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP to join Peak Innovations Inc., an innovative home improvement products company, as General Counsel (Intellectual Property & Litigation).

Gord Thomson has opened J. Gordon Thomson, Law Corporation, a Victoria practice restricted to intellectual property law.

Judith Boer has joined the firm Suleman & Co. where she will practise immigration, refugee, and citizenship law.

The lawyers of Greyell MacPhaill have joined together with the employment and labour lawyers of Ogilvy Renault to form a new firm: Roper Greyell.

Michael Nielsen has joined the Victoria office of J.M. Young & Associates after practicing for several years with Hamilton Duncan. Michael’s practice is in employment and human rights, civil litigation and personal injury.

Amy D. Francis a tax litigator at the Department of Justice is joining Legacy Tax + Trust Lawyers to practise estate and trust litigation.
