John-Paul Boyd
The award recognizes significant contributions of: pro bono legal services to a client; community organizing in establishing pro bono clinics; co-ordinating pro bono services, and education and advocacy work to promote pro bono culture. John-Paul has been remarkably prolific with his involvement in pro bono and family law in our province. He lectures on family law and court processes for the Battered Women’s Support Services, UBC’s First Nations Legal Clinic, the People’s Law School and the Justice Education Society. He also hosts a clinic for the Salvation Army once a month and has sat on their community council. He is a frequent contributor to continuing legal education and serves on the editorial board of CLE’s BC Annual Family Law Practice. He brings a real passion to all of his volunteer activities and is committed to public legal education.
