The Canadian Bar Association British Columbia Branch (CBABC) Second Annual Work Life Balance Award Luncheon was held on June 25, 2009 at the Sutton Place Hotel. The CBABC Second Annual Work Life Balance Award was presented by former Attorney General Wally Oppal, QC to Pushor Mitchell LLP in recognition of their leadership in promoting work life balance within the practice of law.
The CBABC Work Life Balance Committee established the Work Life Balance Award to recognize lawyers, law firms or organizations (with a majority of CBA members) who demonstrate leadership in promoting work life balance within the practice of law. Professional surveys repeatedly demonstrate that lawyers consider work life balance to be the number one issue of concern in their professional lives.
In 2009, the Committee received four excellent applications encompassing two individual lawyers and two law firms. Examples of their efforts to demonstrate balance in their professional lives were presented at the luncheon.
We wish to congratulate and honour the nominees:
- Barbara Buchanan, The Law Society of British Columbia
- Heritage Law
- Pushor Mitchell LLP
- Todd Rattray, Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP
We wish to thank Corporate Occupational Solutions for sponsoring the Annual CBABC Work Life Balance Award.
