Mock Trials

Watch some of Central Alberta’s lawyers in action as they present the proceedings and drama of a criminal and civil trial:

“Cinderella v. Evil Stepmother”

Everyone orders Cinderella around, from her evil stepmother and awful stepsisters, to the cat! Cinderella’s not going to take it anymore. She’s tired of the aching feet, sore back and calloused hands. No more dusting. No more mending for her stepsisters, Anastasia and Drusilla. No more cooking or doing laundry for her stepmother, Lady Tremaine. No more baths for Lucifer, the cat. Not until she gets paid! Cinderella is suing her stepmother for all those years of working without pay. The thing-a-ma-bob that’ll do the job is $1 million dollars. You decide, should Cinderella’s dream come true?

“Death by Throwing Star, or is it?”

Freddy finds an intruder named Lenny in his apartment playing his XBOX. In a fit of rage, Freddy tackles Lenny and pushes him out the apartment window. Meanwhile two floors below, Johnny hurls his throwing star out the window, impaling Lenny in the throat as Lenny is falling from the apartment above. Lenny dies. Who is guilty of killing Lenny? Was it manslaughter, first degree murder or second degree murder?

Come see the trial where you can give your verdict and enter to win an XBOX or IPOD!
