Family Friendly Demonstration Trials
Thatcher the Purse Snatcher. During this trial, you get a chance to be one of the witnesses. Test your observation skills in this classic whodunit and help put the right person behind bars. See every aspect of the justice system, from the police officers that fight crime on the streets, to the lawyers that prosecute and defend the accused, and finally, the judge that presides over the courtroom. Performed at 9:30am.
GLEEfully Paying Your Taxes! If the thought of taxes ever made you “groan”, you may be singing a different tune after seeing this event. This musical extravaganza will have you dancing in your seats and singing along to the beats as you experience this dynamic, entertaining and one of a kind masterpiece! Performed at 11am and 2pm.
Herry Phother and the Potion Master’s Book. Enter the magical wizarding world of Herry Phother. Join Harmony Ranger and her friends Don Wheeley and Herry Phother as they take their fight to the magical courts for Harmony to reclaim her title as potion book master! Take part in this spellbound adventure at 11am and 2pm.
Custody Battle on the Gridiron! Who could resist a custody battle over the Stampeders’ own Ralph-the-Dog? This trial stars one of Calgary’s Stampeders and, of course, Ralph-the-Dog himself. Experience the drama and intrigue from the gridiron brought to our courtroom in this innovative and exciting courtroom trial! Happening at 12:30pm.
High School Mock Trial
High School Mock Trial Tournament – Ongoing throughout the day
Calgary High School students face each other in a battle of wits and knowledge, fast thinking and improvisation in a courtroom tournament to decide who reigns supreme! This is a definite must see!

See displays and talk to representatives from various organizations including: Calgary Transit Protective Services, the Calgary Humane Society, Canada Border Services Agency, the Calgary Police Service, Parks Canada, City of Calgary Bylaw Services, STARS, Pro Bono Law Alberta, the Volunteer Lawyers Service, and many, many, more! Ask-A-Lawyer, Try Judging Program, Ask-a-Clerk - Ongoing
Speak to lawyers, court clerks, and see if you have what it takes to be a judge. This is your chance to ask questions and find out more. (**Note: Ask-a-Lawyer is staffed by volunteer lawyers. The volunteers will assist as much as they are able. Neither your name nor any information that can identify you will ever be disclosed. The CBA Law Day organizers, its staff, and its volunteers cannot be held liable for any loss or damage you may suffer from the services offered of any other cause**)
Public Speaking Competition – Ongoing
Back by popular demand, this public speaking competition is open to kids from grades 8 -12. The contestants must utilize their verbal skills, ability to captivate an audience and their knowledge of their chosen topic. The stakes are high, with a very desirable prize for the winner. Come cheer on your favourite!

From Court Rooms (including a state-of-the-art high security courtroom) to Holding Cells to the Law Library– if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like in the Courthouse (or cells!) this is the time to find out! Feel free to join a Courthouse tour, or venture out on your own. Look for Clerks in Court Robes for assistance.
